Nominator's project description
| Professor Dauskardt has made seminal contributions to modern areas of meterial sciences and engineering. His pioneering work on interfacial fracture mechanics has helped put this difficult discipline on firm ground. These studies are complemented by highly orginal insights into fatigue crack growth in brittle materials, mechanics of metallic glasses, more recently, materials reliability inteded for biomedical applications. His outstanding ability to conduct interdisciplinary research will be very fruitful in our joint studies of nanoscale thin film structures and mechanical characterization of soft biological matter. |
