Nominator's project description

Professor Henry is one of the internationally leading astrophysicists studying the cosmological evolution of clusters of galaxies. X-ray observations of clusters, pioneered by Professor Henry, have helped to lead to a shift of paradigm in our understanding of the universe. They prove that the matter density is dominated by the still unexplained "Dark Matter" which, however, is not sufficient to close the universe. In combination with new measurements of the microwave background and distant supernovae we can even conclude that the cosmic expansion is still accelerated by mysterious "Dark Energy".
