Nominator's project description
| Professor Rubi Capaceti of the Universidad de Barcelona obtains the Mutis Humboldt Research Award in recognition for his key contributions to the theory of fluctuating hydrodynamics, nucleation kinetics and nonequilbrium thermodynamics. He was also among the first to describe the constructive role of noise in spatially extended condensed matter and hydrodynamic systems. Together with P. Hänggi (Augsburg) he is going to undertake research aimed at the control of diffusion and the description of hydrodynamic interaction effects for corresponding Brownian motors and other microfluidic systems. |
