Nominator's project description
Professor Alexe is one of the world’s leading scientists in the physics of ferroelectric and multiferroic nanostructures. He was among the initiators of this field, developed a number of nanofabrication and characterization techniques and studied a wide range of physical phenomena. He recently discovered the flexo-photovoltaic effect with potential for new photovoltaic elements. In Germany he will continue research on physical effects in ferroelectric and multiferroic nanomaterials. Professor Alexe is hosted by Professor Ralf B. Wehrspohn at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and Professor Jürgen Rödel at Technical University Darmstadt. |
