| Professor Suresh is an internationally renowned authority on the fatigue of materials and is one of the most highly cited researchers in the world in the broad area of material sciences. His development of experimental and analytical methods for measuring stress in structured thin films represents a major contribution to thin film mechanics. He has recently applied his extensive knowledge of engineering materials to study the mechanical behaviour of biological cells. The nanomechanical behaviour of both engineering and biological materials will be explored during the collaboration in Stuttgart. |
