Nominator's project description
| Dr. Efros has delivered a variety of pioneering results to the theoretical description of semiconductor nanostructures. Through his work he has promoted the understanding of physics in these systems by seeking for novel phenomena, which in many cases were verified after their prediction. Thereby he has not only contributed to basic science, but has also made important contributions to applications of nanostructures in electronics, optoelectronics and photonics. During his stay in Germany he plans to study coherent phenomena in quantum dots, which are the basis for quantum information processing. |
