Nominator's project description
Professor Suga is an internationally leading scientist in the field of Biological Chemistry. By engineering fundamental biological and chemical processes, he was able to develop an artificial system for the synthesis and selection of peptide binders. While they have a similar affinity as the well-known natural antibodies, peptide binders are smaller in size and thus have great potential to revolutionize the development of new medicines. In Germany, Professor Suga plans to broaden the potential number of building blocks for his peptide binders and to develop new applications of his technology. |
