Nominator's project description
| For several decades Prof. Peter Griffiths of the University of Idaho is among the most renowned researchers in vibrational spectroscopy. He initiated some of the widely used measuring techniques, explained their theoretical background and wrote the most popular book on FTIR spectroscopy. After many other international awards he now received the prestigious Humboldt Research Award for Senior U.S. Scientists. At the Technical University of Dresden Peter Griffiths will join Reiner Salzer's group and work on a project on Raman hyperspectral imaging for the diagnosis of diseases under in vivo conditions. |
