Nominator's project description
| Professor Laszlo Tora has devoted his entire scientific carrier to the study of the mechanisms of activation of protein coding genes. He is a world class investigator of the protein complexes which initiate gene expression. As a Humboldt-Helmholtz Research Prize holder Professor Tora will carry out a six months research visit in the laboratory of Dr F. Müller in the Institute of Toxicology and Genetics of the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe. In collaborative partnership with Professor H. Steinbesser at the University of Heidelberg Professor Tora embarks to develop novel imaging technologies to visualize protein-DNA interaction in gene activation in living cells. |
