Nominator's project description
| Professor Schröder is honoured for his fundamental results in computer graphics, which span the whole range from fundamental mathematical theories to "Digital geometry processing". Of particular importance is his landmark work on the formulation of differential geomtries on polygonal meshes and on the characterization of geometry processing as signal processing operations. Currently he is involved in the development of methods of discrete differential geometry and its applications to computer graphics, which are in the focus of his research work in Germany, as well. |
