Nominator's project description
| Professor Jun Ye received the award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to precision laser spectroscopy, manipulation and production of cold and ultracold atoms and molecules, and their applications in metrology. Professor Ye will conduct research with the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, Braunschweig and the Institute of Quantum Optics of the University of Hannover to investigate tailored light-atom interactions for the efficient production of cold and ultracold ensembles of atoms that will allow novel applications, e.g., for future optical atomic clocks. |
