Nominator's project description

Professor Müller is an international expert on fault-tolerance in high-performance computing. He has made many important contributions to improving runtime systems, programming languages as well as compilers for parallel and distributed computing systems. More recently, he has focused on algorithms that reduce the power consumption of computational systems by dynamic feedback control while ensuring that service-level-agreements can be met. During his stay in Germany, he will pursue the design of a system that optimizes performance, energy, resilience and thermal constraints in high-performance computer installations.
