Nominator's project description
Professor Håkon Austrheim is famous for his work on the metamorphic rocks of Western Norway. His detailed research on this ancient mountain belt has provided a new perspective on the importance of fluids in metamorphic processes and the role of fluids in defining the strength of rocks. During his stay in Germany he will investigate the mechanisms of fluid driven metamorphic reactions and their consequences for isotope systematics of metamorphic terrains. |
