Nominator's project description

Professor Bordia is an internationally renowned scientist who has made innovative contributions to the mechanics and processing of inorganic materials. In his research he focuses on the relationship between the atomistic nature of materials and the resulting technologically relevant properties. His pioneering work on constrained sintering of heterogeneous composite materials has had a strong impact on the development of modern high-tech ceramic materials. During his stay in Germany, Professor Bordia will work on fundamental physico-chemical aspects and on processing of novel photo-catalytic nano-materials for energy and environmental applications.
