Nominator's project description
| Professor Duncan is well known internationally for his outstanding research in the spectroscopy and photochemistry of metal-containing clusters and in the synthesis of nanocluster materials. He has made seminal contributions to the development of cluster sources, and he has applied a wide variety of spectroscopic techniques to obtain structural information on gas-phase clusters. In Germany, Professor Duncan will perform IR spectroscopic studies on carbon cation clusters and on metal carbide cations in a cooled ion-trap, studying chemical reactions of these species. |
