Nominator's project description

Prof. Vitali Milman is an internationally renowned mathematician working in Functional Analysis and Convex Geometry. He discovered and studied several central phenomena in Analysis, among them the Concentration of Measure Phenomenon and its application to Asymptotic Geometric Analysis. In Germany, his research will focus on functional duality transforms extending convex duality, aiming for new geometric inequalities. Another topic is the study of the uniform volume distribution on convex bodies.
