Nominator's project description
| For more than 20 years, Professor Mezard has been one of the internationally leading experts in the fields of statistical physics of disordered systems. His work contributed seminal results for the theory of spin glasses, in particular concerning ultrametricity, for the development of the cavity approach and for the development of statistical-physics based algorithms for large optimization problems. During his visit to Germany, he plans to work on the theory of new types of percolation problems and the development of statistical medical tests. |
