Nominator's project description
| Professor Jeffrey C. Trinkle is an internationally recognized authority in the areas of non-smooth mechanics and robotics. He has made important contributions in both areas through his work on the problems of robotics grasping, assembly and dexterous manipulation. During his stay in Germany, he will work with researchers in the Institute for Robotics and Mechatronics at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) on robotic grasping and assembly problems. The joint work will blend ideas and techniques from both parties to create unique approaches to advanced manipulation problems and to evaluate them on DLR's humanoid robots as well as on commercialized DLR light-weight robot arms. Professor Trinkle is hosted by Professor Gerhard Hirzinger at the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. |
