Nominator's project description
| Professor Yuichi Ikuhara is a well known internationally recognized scientist in the field of interface science and grain boundary engineering in ceramics. His studies concerning grain boundary related phenomena took a world-leading role in this field of research. His stay in Germany will initiate a close collaboration between both institutes at the Tokyo University and the Technische Universität Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt), where cutting-edge research is performed on the nano scale, in particular, on grain-boundary structures with a correlation to material performance. Prof. Dr. Yuichi Ikuhara is hosted by Professor Dr. Ralf Riedel and by Prof. Dr. Hans-Joachim Kleebe at the Technische Universität Darmstadt. |
