Nominator's project description

Dr. Jellinek is well known internationally for his outstanding contributions to the understanding of the electronic structure and structural dynamics of free metal and alloy clusters. His theoretical contributions towards a conceptual physical understanding of cluster dynamics will impact experimental approaches to study those systems. In Germany, Dr. Jellinek will closely interact with experimentalists working both, on free and supported metal clusters to jointly tackle problems in understanding cluster phenomena.
