Nominator's project description

ProfessorJaklin Kornfilt is well-known internationally for her outstanding research in Turkish linguistics and the morphology-syntax interface in general. She has made important contribution to case theory in theoretical linguistics as well as in typology. Professor Kornfilt combines a deep understanding of linguistic structure with a detailed knowledge of particular languages. During her stay in Germany, she will continue her research on partitivity and specificity in Turkic and, more generally, Altaic languages and her investigation of language contact between Turkish and Greek. Professor Kornfilt is hosted by Professor Klaus von Heusinger at the Institute of Linguistics and at the Center of Linguistics and Cognition of the University of Stuttgart.
