Nominator's project description

Professor Stahl is an internationally recognized authority in the field of oxidation catalysis. He has performed fundamental mechanistic studies and characterized key intermediates in reactions between palladium and dioxygen. His results have improved the understanding of various synthetically highly relevant oxidative transformations of organic molecules. In Germany he will continue his research with a particular focus on aerobic oxidative functionalizations of unreactive hydrocarbens. Professor Dr. Shannon Stahl is hosted by Professor Dr. Carsten Bolm at the Institute of Organic Chemistry at RWTH University in Aachen.
