Nominator's project description
| Professor Gehrke is an international authority in database systems, data mining and data privacy. He was one of the pioneers in scalable data mining and started the field of sensor data management in the database community. Gehrke's work on novel definitions for data privacy was adopted by the United States Census Bureau and resulted in the first release of data with formal privacy guarantees by a government statistics agency world-wide. In Germany, he plans to work on data privacy issues in cloud computing. |
