Nominator's project description
| Professor Peter F. Leadlay is internationally well known for his outstanding research in the biosynthesis of secondary metabolites and antibiotics. He has made important and groundbreaking contributions to the fundamental understanding of polyketide biosyntheses. In his research, Professor Leadlay combines a large variety of biochemical, chemical and bioanalytical methods with intuitive intellectual insights. During his stay in Germany, he intends to investigate the biosynthesis of tetronic acid polyketides and of other polyketide antibiotics. |
