Nominator's project description
| Prof. Dr. Peter de Ruiter from Wageningen University, NL, is a very well recognized scientist in theoretical ecology, especially food web ecology. Together with his team he explicitly links mathematical models with observations on the structure and compositions of real food webs which opens new ways to approach the 'stability' of food webs. His work resulted e.g. in 5 publications in Science and 3 in Nature. During his stay at Potsdam University, he will compare soil and plankton food webs. |
