Nominator's project description
| Professor Forbus is an international authority in artificial intelligence and cognitive science. He is one of the pioneers in qualitative reasoning. His qualitative process theory has been used to model human common-sense reasoning and textbook problem solving, among other fields of application. Professor Forbus is a passionate educator and he develops elaborate sketch understanding software to help engineering students learn to communicate via sketches. In Germany, he plans to collaborate in the areas of spatial cognition and analogical reasoning as well as work on a book on Qualitative Modeling. |
