Nominator's project description
| Professor Thompson is well known internationally for his outstanding research on new materials and devices that have revolutionized the field of organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs). His pioneer work on phosphorescent emitters and the understanding of their behaviour in solid state devices were of primary importance for the design and realization of metal complexes with excellent emission properties. With his work an important translation from fundamental to applied research was achieved. |
