Nominator's project description
| Prof. John Nerbonne is an internationally renowned researcher at the interface of linguistics and informatics. Over the last 15 years he has fundamentallly reshaped areal linguistics, particularly dialectology, by making cutting edge methods of computational linguistics and statistics available for topics of research traditionally located in the humanities. Professor Nerbonne is hosted by Professor Auer at the University of Freiburg/Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies. |
