Nominator's project description
Professor Lenta Ndjakou is internationally well-known for his research in phytochemistry. His scientific mission is putting Cameroonian traditional medicine onto a scientific basis and its translation into therapeutic application. He co-ordinates a network of interdisciplinary projects with scientists from Cameroonian universities and research institutes in a DAAD-funded SDG Graduate School. Focus is laid on parasite diseases such as Malaria and Leishmaniosis, as well as bacterial diseases. In Germany, he will investigate the implementation of novel techniques in the discovery process. |
