Nominator's project description
| Professor Carmen Buchrieser is a leading, internationally recognized scientist in the field of infectious disease research. She developed an original and unique integrated genome-based functional approach to study bacterial pathogens. This approach has lead to major breakthroughs in our understanding how a bacterial pathogen may evolve from the environment. In Germany Professor Buchrieser will expand her approach to include proteome-based analyses of post-translational modifications of host proteins by intracellular bacterial pathogens. |
