Nominator's project description
| Professor Xie was among the first to conduct single-molecule imaging, spectroscopy, and dynamical studies at room temperature. He has made seminal contributions to the study of biological systems at the single-molecule level. In particular, he pioneered single-molecule enzymology which formed the basis for single-molecule genome sequencing. During his stay in Germany, Professor Xie intends to combine his single protein studies with live-cell superresolution microscopy approaches. |
