Nominator's project description
| Professor Grove is an international authority in modern differential geometry. His contributions cover a wide variety of topics, from closed and isometry invariant geodesics to topological sphere theorems and finiteness theorems in Riemannian geometry to the construction of important new examples of manifolds of positive curvature. He developed a number of fundamental mathematical tools and methods. During his stay in Germany, he will continue his research on positively curved manifolds and related topics. |
