Nominator's project description

Professor van Dooren is a leading international scholar in the interdisciplinary Environmental Humanities. His research has developed important new multidisciplinary approaches to the pressing challenge of extinction, drawing the humanities into conversation with the natural sciences, and ethnographic field research. During his stay in Germany, he intends to collaborate with colleagues to conduct research on the epistemological and ethical questions that are arising as a result of efforts to incorporate the insights of behavioral biology into conservation practice.
