Nominator's project description

Professor Howe is an internationally leading scholar in the theory and practice of Asian governance, peacebuilding, and regional security. His research encompasses the intersections of domestic and international governance related to traditional and non-traditional (human) security provision, democratization, post-conflict development, peacebuilding, security-sector reform, human rights, resilience, and capacity-building in Northeast and Southeast Asia. During his stay in Germany, Professor Howe is conducting research on the development of middle powers, militarization in Asia, and contemporary conflict dynamics in the Asia-Pacific region.
