Nominator's project description
Professor Mark Turner is an international authority in the study of the human mind. He is credited with the development of "conceptual blending", which shows that human thinking can be characterized as complex mental operations blending frames. He described this as the source of creativity and original thinking. In Germany, Professor Turner elaborates on this by developing the RedHen database, as well as the theoretical background of multimodal construction grammar and its applicability for the field of cognition and poetics. Professor Mark Turner is hosted by Professor Alexander Bergs at the University of Osnabrück. |
