Nominator's project description
| Professor Pimenta is an international authority in the field of computational mechanics and especially for the finite element method. He developed several new finite element formulations, which help to improve the reliability of numerical simulation in engineering problems. In Brazil, he was awarded "Pesquisador 1A", which is the highest rank for a researcher in Brazil, contributing to his outstanding researcher profile. During his stay in Germany, he will focus on the development of formulations for the description of elasto-plastic material behavior and on the establishment of a sustainable cooperation between the hosting workgroup and his own one in Sao Paolo. |
