Nominator's project description
| Professor Boyarin is well known internationally for his outstanding research in Talmud studies. He has revolutionized not only the manner of reading the Talmudim, but also the perceptions of the relations between Judaism and Christianity in Late Antiquity. Through his unique approach to Jewish and Christian sources, Professor Boyarin has critically re-evaluated the construction of two divided religious systems with their different cultural influences and social impact. During his stay in Germany, he continues his research on the mutual interdependence between the Talmudim, parabiblical literature and the New Testament. |
