Nominator's project description

Professor Zubarev is known for his groundbreaking work in the generation and alignment of well-defined gold nanorods and their use for a variety of actual application, e.g. in plasmonic sensing of analytes or in biomedicine. His strength is to couple fine colloid synthesis with physical phenomena, such as drying patterns and wetting of structures substrates. Recently, he extended this knowledge to other nanofibers, such as collagen. During his stay in Germany, he will continue research in this field, and we are allowed to expect exciting new materials and new effects.
