Nominator's project description
| Professor Owen is an internationally renowned social scientist who specializes in global affairs. He has shaped the way scholars understand the absence of war among liberal democracies and was also among the first scholars to investigate systematically attempts by states to alter the domestic institutions of other countries. His latest book uses comparative political history to extract insights about the ongoing ideological struggles in the Muslim world. During his stay in Germany, Professor Owen will work on a project entitled "The Evolution of the International System and the Future of Liberal Democracy" using comparative historical methods. |
