Nominator's project description
| Professor Low is a leading researcher in the field of molecular electronics and organometallic chemistry. He has made important contributions to the synthesis of tailor-made molecules with mixed-valence character, and he has applied modern methods of spectro-electrochemistry to study their spectroscopic properties and electron-transfer characteristics, linking them to the charge transfer through molecular wires attached to electrodes. He will collaborate with German quantum chemists on the understanding of these processes and of the spectroscopic parameters. |
