Nominator's project description
| Professor Martin is one of the most important and influential sociologists of his generation. He pioneers quantitative techniques to study social structures from relationship networks in communes to political voting patterns. In addition, he develops pragmatist foundations for sociology, formulating a social aesthetics of how actors behave and relate to each other in diverse social fields. In Germany, Professor Martin focuses on the political field, from its conceptualization to empirical case studies. |
