Nominator's project description
| Professor Diop is an internationally renowned expert of the Francophone Literatures of Sub-Saharan Africa and the Caribbean. Born in Saint-Louis in Senegal, and teaching in Paris since 1996, Professor Diop is specialized in the analysis of the relations between oral and written literatures and cultures in Africa and the Caribbean. His books on the 'Cultural Archeology’ of Senegalese literature and on the works of the Senegalese writer and politician Léopold Sedar Senghor and on Aimé Césaire represent outstanding landmarks in the field of colonial and postcolonial literatures studies. |
