Nominator's project description
| Professor Ali is an international authority in dacryology, the study of tears and tear drainage pathways. He has pioneered translational research in this area and was instrumental in decoding the etiopathogenesis of dacryolithiasis, demonstration of surfactants within the human canaliculus, and establishing guidelines for the use of 3D endoscopy in lacrimal surgeries. In Germany, he continues his research on taste receptors and their characterization in the lacrimal system. |
