Nominator's project description
| Professor Wu is well known internationally for his outstanding contributions to understanding metal-catalyzed organic reaction mechanisms by utilizing sophisticated quantum chemical methods. Inter alia, he developed the now widely used “Gong-Wu model” for the catalytic asymmetric direct Aldol reaction catalyzed by prolinamide derivatives and his work has helped in the design of more efficient organocatalysts. During his stay in Germany, Professor Wu will tackle the rather intricate and difficult mechanisms of catalytic sigma-bond activations, a timely topic that is challenging both academically and industrially. |
