| Professor Downer is an international authority in the field of laser-plasma physics. He has made important contributions in accelerating particles to multi-giga-electron-volt energy by tabletop laser-based methods. During his stay in Germany, he intends to elaborate an improved understanding of the mechanisms for laser particle acceleration. |
