| Professor Downey is a leading scientist in mathematical logic and theoretical computer science. He has made fundamental contributions to computability theory and computational complexity theory. His work has also greatly influenced and shaped the development of the theory of algorithmic randomness. In Germany he will continue his research in these areas. |
