Nominator's project description
| Jan Koenderink has contributed like few others to the advancement of human and machine vision research. Combining his background in physics and his deep understanding of psychology, he was able to both describe and to treat some of the most important problems in vision science, for example the basic elements of optical flow generated by movement, or the differential geometry of shape perception. During his stay in Germany, he intends to develop a new framework for visual perception in the periphery of the visual field. |
