Nominator's project description

Professor Chen is recognized as an international leader in the phase-field method, which has become the most powerful computational approach for predicting mesoscale materials microstructures. He has made important contributions to the development of phase-field models for domain evolution in ferroelectrics, multiferroics and the evolution of phase and defect microstructures. In Germany, Professor Chen focuses on dislocations on electromechanical properties in ferroelectrics and on electrical conductivity in oxides.
