Nominator's project description

Professor Jasanoff is recognized internationally as a pioneer and leading scholar in the field of Science and Technology Studies (STS). Her research links ideas from law, political theory and science studies to explore entanglements between science and society. Her work on “public reason” and “socio-technical imaginaries,” among others, has addressed the question of how publicly acceptable knowledge is formed, and how science figures as a site of state-making and societal reconfiguration. Professor Jasanoff also engages in public debates about contemporary questions of science and technology such as nuclear power, stem cell research, gene editing and environmental issues.
