Nominator's project description
| Professor Healy is well known internationally for his outstanding research in bioengineering. In his interdisciplinary approach he combines fundamental molecular biology with modern materials science, chemical synthesis, engineering and medicine to explore stem cell manipulation and its use in clinical practice. In Germany Professor Healy will apply his stem cell bioengineering expertise to explore nanostructured and biofunctionalized water-in-oil droplets fabricated by microfluidic technology as a system for stem cell engineering with the vision to develop novel methods for tissue assembly. |
